2009 VIPT Tour Schedule

The 2009 schedule is close to being completed for the upcoming season with our first event in April and our last event in October. Schedule will be posted at the end of November .p>

The VIPT is excited to have 14 dates for 2009. The events will showcase our Vancouver Islands golf course's and its pro's. Please follow throughout the upcoming year as the home page will be updated with future events, results and standings for the tour.

Gordy Scutt Tops Field at Island PGA Championship

The Bear Mountain Golf Club played host to the Vancouver Island Professional Tour on Monday October 13th. Thirty Five Vancouver Island golf professionals played in this year’s event and were treated to an interesting day. The tournament this year was contested on the back nine hole of the original Mountain Course and the composite nine holes from the newly constructed Valley Course. With consistently heavy winds and periods of heavy rain, scoring for this years PGA was very tough. These conditions, however, didn’t stop a few top dogs from taking it low. The champion for the 2008 Island PGA was none other that Gordon Scutt from Golf Town with a fine score of 67. This victory makes it no less that five out of the 13 VIPT tournaments that he has championed or co-championed this season. Runner up for this year’s event was Gorge Vale Assistant Professional Germain Francoeur who shot a fine score of 69 and also received the day’s only skin with an eagle on the Mountain’s Course 14th hole.

2009 OOM Champion is Gordy Scutt

The 2009 Order of Merit Champion is Gordy Scutt from Golf Town. His strong consistant play throughout the season included 5 wins and a top 5 at the Canadain Assistants Championship. When asked what he contributes to his success this year he was quoted that " he owes all his success to his personal assistant Tony Harris for swing changes".
